Beware of using either of these companies - Northern VA Homes or Unlimited Horizons, Inc

I'm a military member that elected to contract Northern VA Homes, a subsidary of Unlimited Horizons, Inc, to manage a property for me while I was going to be deployed. When the representative arrived at my house, we completed a contract, paid the representative, and my future tenant even gave the representative the security deposit and the first month's rent in advance. Prior to the new tenant moving into my property, she made several attempts to contact the Northern VA homes representative with no success. My wife and I attempted to contact the representative as well and eventually was able to contact him after about five attempts. Once we contacted the representative he informed us that the moving dates was more than ten days away and that he didn't think the tenants questions were a priority eventhough he had agreed at the signing to provide the requested information. Needless to say, we talked with the representative and told him that we were not satisfied with his services and decided to terminate the contract. We then asked the representative to return the check to either us or the tenant just before he hung up the phone on us. The representative, failed to do so and deposited the checks into the company's account eventhough the contract had been terminated. After ten days, we had not heard from the company or the representative so I decided to contact the company's president and inform him of the situation. The president was about a cordial as the representative but did tell me that the company had mailed us a check and that we should receive the check either later that day or the next. Neither happen. So with the walk-thru approaching on Monday, I decided to call the company's president again on Saturday to see how we could resolved the issue. The company's president told me that, "there was nothing that he could do" and hung up on me as well. So, I'm starting this blog to possibly help someone in the future. I would never use this company again and would tell others to approach with caution. They appeared to be very customer oriented while taking my check but did not show any concern for the customer when I asked to terminate the contract and refund my money due to substandard service.
